Jesse Brock 18-8 and riding a win streak was given permission by the MFC to participate on Front Street Fights 3 November 7th card at Century Link Arena. Jesse Brock was slated to compete for the MFC bantamweight world title this October vs Anthony Birchak but the current champ (Birchak) ended up signing a new contract with the UFC and leaving Jesse without an opponent. The MFC decided that Jesse will compete against a yet to be determined opponent for the vacant belt in Janurary. We are pleased that the Maximum fighting organization is allowing Jesse to compete this November in front of his home town one more time. Jesse Brock was surprised to learn he’s vaulted into the top 40 in the world, according to Fight Matrix.
He’s excited by that realization, but much more focused on being the number one bantamweight in the Maximum Fighting Championship. To make that happen, Brock intends on taking out reigning champ Anthony Birchak at MFC 41: All In.
Brock challenges Birchak for the belt on Friday, Oct. 3 live on AXS TV Fights from the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. The Boise, Idaho, product has flown under the radar for much of his career, while Birchak has stood out in the crowded ranks with his effervescent personality. Kevin Croom vs. Jesse Brock
Round 1: They feel each other out and both connect with rights. Brock shoots in but is stuff and lands a knee before they break apart. Another shot and Croom stuffs it and lands a knee to the head. Brock keeps a hand on the ground to avoid the knees and they get back to vertical. Croom throws a combo and lands a leg kick. Another shot stuffed by Croom and yet another. Brock looks for a guillotine but the get back up and Brock works the body. Croom lands some body shots of his own and they separate and Croom lands a nice combo. The Maximum Fighting Championship has sourced out a strong replacement to fill an injury void that has caused a change to the MFC 40: Crowned Kings lineup.
Due to a significant injury suffered in training, reigning MFC bantamweight champ Anthony Birchak is unable to fight on Friday, May 9 on the AXS TV Fights card emanating from the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. With Birchak out, “The Hard-Hitting Hillbilly” Kevin Croom (14-4) will now battle Jesse Brock (16-8) in a three-round title eliminator. Brock has been signed to a multi-fight contract.
